About Wild Kings

Wild Kings is a strategic card game for 2-4 players where skill, strategy, and a bit of luck combine for endless fun! Arrange your cards into valid groups called Books and Runs while racing to be the first to "go out" and stick your opponents with penalty points.


With 11 exciting rounds, each featuring a different wild card, no two games are ever the same. Play against AI opponents, challenge friends locally, or compete online!

How to Play

🎯 The Goal

Be the first to arrange ALL your cards into valid groups (except one card to discard). The player with the lowest total penalty points after 11 rounds wins!

🃏 The Deck

Wild Kings uses a special 116-card deck:

  • 5 Suits: Clubs ♣, Diamonds ♦, Hearts ♥, Spades ♠, and Stars ⭐
  • Cards 3-13 in each suit (3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K)
  • 6 Jokers (always wild)

📋 Valid Groups

Books (Sets)

Three or more cards of the same rank:

✅ 7♣ 7♦ 7♥ — Three 7s (valid book)
✅ Q♠ Q♦ Q♣ Q⭐ — Four Queens (valid book)
❌ 7♣ 7♦ — Only two cards (not valid)

Runs (Sequences)

Three or more consecutive cards of the same suit:

✅ 5♥ 6♥ 7♥ — Run of 3 in hearts
✅ 9♠ 10♠ J♠ Q♠ K♠ — Run of 5 in spades
❌ 5♥ 6♦ 7♥ — Mixed suits (not valid)

🎭 Wild Cards

Wild cards can substitute for ANY card:

  • Jokers: Always wild in every round (50 penalty points if ungrouped)
  • Round Wilds: Each round, one rank becomes wild:
    • Round 1 (3 cards): 3s are wild
    • Round 2 (4 cards): 4s are wild
    • ...and so on through Round 11 (Kings are wild)
✅ 7♣ 7♦ JOKER — Book using Joker as 7
✅ 5♥ WILD 7♥ — Run with wild as 6♥

🔄 Taking Your Turn

  1. Draw ONE card from either:
    • The deck (face down) — mystery card
    • The discard pile (face up) — you see what you get
  2. Discard ONE card to the discard pile
When you can go out, cards will show a green "GO OUT" badge. Tap to see your groups and confirm!

⚠️ Penalty Points

Cards left ungrouped at the end of a round add to your score:

The goal is to have the LOWEST score. Perfect go-outs (0 points) are the dream!

🏁 Going Out & Ending Rounds

  1. When you can form all your cards into valid groups (except one to discard), you can GO OUT
  2. After someone goes out, all other players get ONE final turn
  3. After the final turn, ungrouped cards are counted as penalty points
  4. The next round begins with the next player dealing

🏆 Winning the Game

After all 11 rounds are complete:

  • Add up each player's total penalty points from all rounds
  • The player with the LOWEST total wins!

Strategy Tips

🎯 Drawing

  • Take from discard if it completes a group
  • Take from deck if the discard helps your opponent
  • Watch what opponents discard!

🗑️ Discarding

  • Discard high-point cards first
  • Keep wilds — they're valuable!
  • Don't help your opponents

🧩 Building Groups

  • Look for multiple possibilities
  • Don't commit wilds too early
  • Aim for perfect go-outs

⏱️ Timing

  • Going out early hurts opponents
  • Sometimes wait to improve your hand
  • Track the round wild!
